Exhaust Fans

There are a number of issues with allowing heavy condensation and humidity to reside in your home, as dampness allows the growth of mould and associated bacteria to manifest. If you see mould it can carry concerning health risks, including allergic reactions, trigger asthma and is dangerous for those with existing health issues.

There are various exhaust fans available and it is important to choose the correct fan for the space intended.

A new fan in your bathroom, powder room and laundry installed by Auslek will provide ventilation and minimise the risks associated with humidity in your home.

Televisions

There’s more to mounting a television to a wall than a standard bracket. To have a television wall mounted you need to consider what is happening behind the wall and whether you need to install and hide various cables ( HDMI, Coax, Power ) so that there aren’t any visible sources. You may require addititonal antenna point or a signal booster if there is an issue with interference. Also, the wall may require further structural reinforcement if the screen is particularly large. Auslek will get your television mounted correctly, with all required power and cables so that you can enjoy a home theatre experience.

Powerpoints

New power points are essential if you find that you are using too many powerboards and adaptors to get things working for you. It’s just not safe. New powerpoints in the standard plate style or new designer plates with slimline powerpoints and child-safe powerpoints can be installed. Outdoor weatherproof powerpoints must be used for external power sources. Whether it’s a surface-mounted or recessed power point, or if we need to chase a cable, we will always discuss the process with you first.

Smoke Alarms

In addition to new homes, hard-wired smoke alarms are mandatory in all existing homes in Australia. There are many different kinds of smoke alarms, Auslek will discuss and advise what type of smoke alarm should be installed and in which area of your home for maximum effectiveness. Smoke alarms can also be wired to connect to the other alarms in the house, so no matter where the fire breaks out, alarms will sound in every room to alert you to quickly head for safety.
Smoke alarms save lives.

Safety Switches

Having a safety switch is your family’s insurance against electric shock. They are installed in your switchboard and work in conjunction with your circuit breakers or fuses. They are designed to prevent injury or death. They monitor the flow of electricity through a circuit. They automatically shut off the electricity supply when current is detected leaking from faulty switches, wiring or electrical appliances. This stops the chance of current flowing to earth, through a person, electrocuting them. Installing a safety switch is an inexpensive safety measure that protects everyone. Re-wireable (porcelain) fuse style switchboards are still found in many older homes, especially unrenovated ones and rental properties. This style of fuse provides the bare minimum of protection. Call Auslek to ensure you have the correct safety switch installed for the safety of your home for your family and property.

Switchboards

Outdated switchboards can be quite problematic and can be a fire hazard in the making. Their fuses are unreliable and the slightest of fluctuation in the current flow can create a lot of trouble for you. Moreover, you are risking yourself from getting electrocuted. So, would you want your kids around such appliances? We don’t think so.

If you feel like the lights in your home are flickering a bit too much or there are frequent power trips, then you might need to upgrade that switchboard of yours. A domestic switchboard installation service from us will leave all your electrical appliances running smoothly. We make sure that your life is not at risk at any given moment. Your safety is definitely more important to us than anything else.

Brilliant electrician! Professional, quality work, reasonably priced and exceptional service. Trent knows his craft; thinks outside the box and works with you to achieve the best outcomes (we had building constraints that made some of the electrical work challenging and he came up with great solutions). Partner and I had the new smoke alarms go off in the middle of the night for no reason. Trying to get a hold of an electrician was difficult. We got a hold of this electrician (sorry didn’t catch your name) that talked us through what to do at 11PM on a Friday. Took the time to help us out so we could get back to sleep. Appreciate all your help! Thank you so much!
